BiOBUDDi sold 10 million toy blocks made from plants

More and more brands are aware and accountable for their carbon footprint. One of these brands that surely is aware of this is Dutch made. The brand is called BiOBUDDi and is targeting their products on children in the age group of 1,5 to 6 years old.

CEO, Steven van Bommel explains: “BiOBUDDi gives parents the peace of mind that their toys they give to their children aren’t harmful to the environment. In toy retail, BiOBUDDi is one of the few companies that has actively dedicated itself to becoming the most sustainable and eco-friendly brand in the market place. The big brands in toys are lagging behind and making very small steps. We as BiOBUDDi are dedicated to only sell toys with a lot less footprint on our planet”.

The efforts of BiOBUDDi are done in collaboration with several partners in the field of biobased materials. Even the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands is involved in the production process. In the beginning of 2018, the university and the company teamed up to make the blocks of an even higher quality and that was done purely with biobased materials. The University in the Netherlands is one of the frontrunners in research on biobased materials and products.

BiOBUDDi was founded in 2017 and now sold 10 million toy blocks. It has high hopes for the near future. Now the brand is getting established in the market place of toys their goals for the future are set even higher. In 2019, the brand wants the number of blocks sold pass the 100 million. The toy blocks can be recycled in the existing recycle systems. The production of the blocks saves up to 8 times the CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. The brand looks to expand the range and their availability online and in stores around the globe.
